week 2

first bad weather run yesterday, though not really too bad. just a light rain, actually was a little warmer than the previous few days. didn't time that one. continues to feel good, and continues to be fun.

because of this week's schedule, likely won't get a chance to run again until maybe tues or wed.

week 1

another cold morning, but another good run. timed for the first time: 19:40 for a few steps over 2 miles. i'll probably stay on 2 miles for another few weeks, then push it towards 3 once i get my splits closer to 9:00. no need to go over 3 for quite a while, probably not until the new year.

week 1

hardest part of the run is that first step. almost talked myself out of running this AM, but fortunately was unable to. glad i went- felt great, could have gone longer but i didn't want to push the distance just yet. feel good enough to run again tomorrow though. will likely start timing soon.

cool windy run yesterday. still just trying to develop a routine, so i'm not timing yet. felt good, though, and finished off the run better than the one prior. may need some new shoes soon.

starting line

you got here, so you found out somehow that a) i've decided to run the 2009 chicago marathon, and 2) i need some help keeping that momentum going. not sure if this is enough to get me out there on those 25 degree january days, but we'll see.

no long diatribes or manifestos here, just boring updates on my mileage to date, my current training schedule, and any upcoming races i've entered to feed that momentum. at the end of every post will be my most recent run and total mileage to date.
